Singer Rancapino Chico opened the evening with a recital of pure and elegant flamenco singing.

The fourth gala show of the 56th edition of the Festival International del Cante de las Minas, featured a night of flamenco that brought together on the same stage Seville dancer Farruquito and singer Rancapino Chico from Chiclana.

Farruquito came to the Cathedral of Cante with his show «Improvisao», in which the dancer highlights the flamenco dancing of the Farruco family, accompanied by singers Antonio Villar, María Vizárraga and Pepe de Pura, in addition to guitarists Román Vicente and José Gálvez with percussionist Antonio El Pollito.

A vibrant show with electrifying, precise and powerful dancing.  Farruquito drew applause from the enthralled audience from the moment he set foot on stage, right through to the last encore.  The dancer explained that his show, «Improvisao», is based on the premise that «the only flamenco we know is learned in the street and at home, with all the family, which is why that is the origin of flamenco, in improvisation, each day you express yourself differently».  And he recalled the words of his grandfather Farruco who told him «I'd prefer to dance truly badly, than falsely well».

The show began with the performance of Rancapino Chico who was debuting at the Cathedral of Cante.  Son of singer Rancapino, Alonso Núñez Fernández, he was born in Chiclana de la Frontera and from early on was soaking up the singing of Cádiz.
