Over the last decade the Festival de Jerez has become the most important event of its kind. Devoted to flamenco and Spanish dance, the yearly two-week-long series takes place at a variety of venues and includes modern tendencies as well as traditional flamenco.

PARALLEL FESTIVAL
Under this heading a series of «off-festival» activities
are included, some already well-known (peñas, after-hours shows),
and others, newly created.
Their corresponding programs (both those directly put on by the Festival,
as well as those sponsored by other organizations as private initiatives)
will be announced in February 2007.
Series De peña en peña – Trasnoches –
Peña de Guardia
15 concert shows of flamenco dance, singing and guitar in flamenco clubs
(peñas) throughout the city.
Each night of the Festival, flamenco encounters at the Peña de
Guardia.
Organized in conjunction with the Federación de Peñas Flamencas
de Jerez.
Series PADE
A series of flamenco shows conceived for school-age audiences.
Program devised with learning centers in Jerez and the province of Cádiz.
Series Flamenco pa’ toos
A series of flamenco appreciation conceived in order to bring social
and cultural groups into this genuine artistic manifestation, and thus,
to the Festival de Jerez.
Carried out in conjunction with the Federación de Peñas
Flamencas de Jerez.
Mixed program (pre-arranged groups and general public).
Series Jerez-Jerez
Flamenco presentations (cante, guitar, dance) offered directly in private
clubs and other venus throughout Jerez. Program devised in conjunction
with the Festival.
Series Conciertos DJ’S
Rhythmic fusion, chill-out and DJ concerts en private venues open to
the public for young audiences.
Program devised in conjunction with the Festival.
