The festival will take place June 9th to July 2nd with more than 80 artists in various venues throughout Spain’s capital and four other towns, Buitrago del Lozoya, La Cabrera, Rivas Vaciamadrid and San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Estrella Morente will open this year’s edition with «Morente en Concierto».
El Cigala, Carmen Linares, Rocío Molina y Tomatito are just a few of the performers scheduled to participate, and the Teatro Real and Teatro de La Abadía will be included for the first time. Another novelty this year is the inclusion of artists from France, Romania, Hungary and Israel within the series “Flamenco en la Frontera”. Valderrama, Arcángel and Diego El Cigala will offer their highly personalized singing styles, and Niño Josele will display his guitar-playing, while dance is to be represented by Rocío Molina’s new show, and Belén Maya and Olga Pericet who will present Bailes Alegres para Personas Tristes. The series “Off, en Vallecas” will accommodate top young Madrid artists, and for the first time, the Teatro Real figures in the program with the music of Mauricio Sotelo. The Teatro de la Abadía is another new venue added to the festival’s regular performance spaces. This year veteran tablao Corral de la Morería will be the setting for the dancing of Domingo Ortega, Fran Espinosa, Francisco Hidalgo, Alfonso Losa, Juan Ogalla, Noe Barroso, Joaquín Mulero, Ana Morales, José Jurado, Raquel Villegas, Patricia Ibáñez, David Coria, Anabel Moreno, Adrián Sánchez and Lucia Guarnido. Likewise, at the well-known Casa Patas we will be able to see various stellar performances. Madrid nightclubs Faena and Colectivo La Latina participate in the program, the latter with a show for children. Another children’s program will be offered by Silvia Marín. Thursday 9 June
