To spend the most flamenco night on June 19th.
Text: Violeta Palomo With the participation of Enrique Morente, Dorantes, El Pele, El Cabrero, Pitingo, Manuel Lombo, Luis de Córdoba and an endless roster of local performers, the party promises to be full of wonderful performances in a perfect setting for the sharing of culture. In a city like Córdoba the “noche blanca” couldn’t be any other way but flamenco. And a new addition in this third edition, is that the performances with be accompanied by a complete program of prior activities over the course of a month called “Luna Creciente”. The presentation took place yesterday at one of Madrid’s most prestigious tablaos, Casa Patas, with the presence of journalists, politicians and celebrities. El Pele gave a sampling of what his performance is going to be, and after a presentation of previous editions of the Noche Blanca by journalist Gemma Nierga, Andrés Ocaña, mayor of Córdoba, encouraged everyone present to attend the Noche Blanca del Flamenco. The night of June 19th will be, without a doubt, an important precedent towards the naming of this city European Cultural Capital for 2016. A city with a rich cultural heritage, with great creative potential, and a meeting place for intercultural endeavors, it was the first Spanish city to show interest in being selected, and the municipal authorities continue to have that objective. In the words of the mayor: “Culture can be used as a driving force for development, but most of all for the intellectual exchange between people with different backgrounds”. Program:
