For
the first time in the history of the National Flamenco Art Competition
of Córdoba, and in an effort to increase the international projection
of the art of flamenco, the Centro Andaluz de Arte Flamenco, Tursimo Andaluz,
the Gran Teatro of Córdoba, Taller Flamenco and Booking Flamenco
have joined forces to make possible this Internet presentation of one
of the most revered flamenco events in Andalusia and in the history of
the art of flamenco itself.
The principal objective of this initiative is the application of the
latest technological advances in the information sector to enhance the
image of the art of flamenco as it continues to reach far-flung destinations
world-wide. It is our desire to satisfy the exponential growth in interest
for this art form beyond our frontiers. We are facing the challenge to
increase the local and regional impact traditionally held by this grand
Competition of Córdoba by providing an international audience of
50,000 people with an open window who may connect via Internet from anywhere
in the world.
November's pioneering initiative to present the online broadcast of the
show «Inmigración» had tremendous impact on the world-wide
flamenco audience. The numerous congratulations we received encouraged
us to continue on this path, as we envision it, blowing the doors wide
open to a universe of flamenco as yet unknown.
All of this was made possible by the invaluable support and encouragement
of the Centro Andaluz de Arte Flamenco, the public enterprise Turismo
Andaluz, a forceful engine for the promotion of flamenco in our region,
along with the necessary collaboration of the Gran Teatro of Córdoba,
and the participation and initiative of Taller Flamenco and Booking Flamenco,
two innovative, cutting-edge firms in today’s flamenco panorama.
In the hopes that this initiative is well-received, we extend our sincerest
wishes that each and every person spectator of this online transmission
enjoys the development of this Andalusian flamenco competition par excellence.
