“No hay quinto malo”
is the title of Niña Pastori’s latest recording, the fifth
record in a career that began ten years ago opening new paths for flamenco.
A new direction that enjoyed popular acceptance from the very beginning
as demonstrated by the fact that “No hay quinto malo” shot
straight to number 1 on Spanish charts the first week it came out.
See detailed information about
the recording.
Niña Pastori has always had new ideas to offer and now she again
brightens the panorama with a special edition DVD+CD of “No hay
quinto malo”, a truly innovative piece of work. For the first time
a flamenco performer has released a DVD in which the images directly correspond
to each and every one of the songs from the record, with a fresh outlook
and great aesthetic sense. In this magnificent presentation Niña
Pastori sings with the twelve songs from the album accompanied by her
musicians and it’s all registered with exquisite taste and quality
via the use of five cameras by director Juan Estelrich. Special guest
artists such as José Miguel Carmona, formerly of Ketama, on the
song Mi Cuna, add even more to the DVD.
Using a white motif and contemporary illustrations by Jerez artist Willie
Márquez, the DVD reflects the power and attraction of Niña
Pastori interpreting all the songs from the record. With the release of
this special DVD+CD the singer from San Fernando once again shakes up
conventional ideas and offers another way to become familiar with her
work. “No hay quinto malo” is now something to be seen as
well as heard.
Following two successful presentations in Madrid and Barcelona, the girl
from Cádiz province has announced her tour set to begin in San
Fernando the end of January 2005 in order to let people know about the
