The fourth edition of the Dutch Flamenco Bienal, with the title «Idas y Vueltas», was presented at the Instituto Andaluz de Flamenco.

The Bienal of Holland is scheduled to take place from January 19th to February 3rd 2013 in the cities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht , Groningen y Eindhoven.
This year’s event is focused on the stylistic variety of current flamenco, and emphasizes dialogues and innovation.
The program includes the presence of Carmen Linares who opens the festival with her work titled “Remembranzas”, and will also explore new frontiers with the Dutch Wind Ensemble to create “Historias de Viento”.
Another featured performer is Israel Galván who will present his two most recent works: “La Curva” and “Lo Real/ Le Réel/ The Real” produced with the festival’s participation. Within the section titled “Focus Catalunya”, the event will highlight the vitality of flamenco in Catalonia with artists such as Mayte Martin, Salao and Las Migas among others.
Artistic encounters and creation are two factors present throughout the program, which in this edition has added two cities to the circuit: Eindhoven and Groningen. Diego Cigala is bringing his crossover project “Cigala y Tango”, and Diego Carrasco with join flamenco and rock with the live presentation of his latest work “Hippytano” dedicated to Moraito. Singer Arcangel will be present in two musical dialogues. On the one hand the singer will show the connection between flamenco and Baroque music in “Las Idas y las Vueltas” with Fahmi Alqha and Accademia del Piacere. He will also lend his talents to join forces with the Balkan music of Theodosii Spassov.
Flamenco dance will meet up with other dance genres thanks to Olga Pericet who will present her works “De Una Pieza” and “Rosa, Metal y Ceniza”. The same concept is present in the program of parallel activities which includes welcoming shows in the vestibules of the respective theaters, choreography workshops, film showings and classes.
