This year’s festival includes the participation of Enrique
Morente and Tomatito thus bringing together

The traditional gala show will open the tour with a presentation based
on the central theme for this fifth edition, “Los Cuatro Elementos”
(the four elements), which recently premiered at Madrid’s Festival
de Otoño. The offers four different perspectives of flamenco: the
racial fire of Carmen Cortés, the sensual movements
of Rocío Molina, the depth of Alejandro Granados
and the ethereal dance of Carlos Rodríguez, all
held together by the music of Gerardo Núñez and
the choreography of American dancer Jacquelyn Buglisi.
Eva Yerbabuena returns to the US with her company after having participated
in the 2002 edition. With the Sara Baras Ballet Flamenco
the festival will reach Los Angeles for the first time and return to San
Francisco. Miami will give new life to its flamenco program including
a dance series at the Jackie Gleason Theater. Belén Maya
and Mayte Martín are bringing their very successful “Flamenco
de Cámara” to London, Boston, Cleveland and Chicago.
With the collaboration of New York’s World Music Institute and
London’s Sadler’s Wells, along with a number of Spanish institutions
including the Seville municipal government, Flamenco Festival has become
an obligatory point of encounter with flamenco for non-Spanish audiences.
