¡FLAMENCO! Festival of Rome

Another important flamenco festival is about to be celebrated in the a country of the European Community.¡Flamenco!, with exclamation points included, will cover eleven Italian days and nights, not only with performances by the most noteworthy artists, but also master classes, gastronomic events, photo exhibits and three evenings of sevillanas in the open air.

Produced by the Fondazione Musica per Roma in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes, a varied range of tendencies is being offered, from the most classical flamenco, with José Menese’s recital, to the most avant-garde with Israel Galván and his “Edad de Oro”, in addition to the most relevant young singers such as Miguel Poveda, Arcángel and Pitingo.Estrella Morente will also have the chance to display her art to Italian audiences, and the trio of Carles Benavent, Tino di Geraldo and Jorge Pardo with offer their recital of flamenco-tinted jazz.

In dance, in addition to Israel Galván, Belén Maya will also bring her shows “Souvenir” and “Dibujos”, and Grilo, his “Sin Fronteras.Catalonian singer Mayte Martín rounds out the varied program with “Mis Treinta Años de Amor al Arte”.
