Los Farruco and Montse Cortés are among the performers to participate in this first edtion.
On September 9th the city of Palma de Mallorca
will hold the first edition of its Flamenco Festival with a top-quality
selection of artists. This festival has been created with the clear intention
of continuing, and the goal of creating an event of importance for the island
that will become a stable element of the cultural scene as well as a place
where Spain’s most universal artform is displayed via first-line artists
in the genuine tradition.
The program for this first edition is a clear demonstration of family-style
flamenco. The Farruco family show is a powerful vision of the family style
with the unequaled presence of La Farruca, the freshness and strength
of Farruco, the festive personality of La Faraona and the brilliant art
of Barullo. Accompanying the group with be guitarists Román Vicenti
and Antonio Reyes, and singers María Vizárraga, José
Anillo and Jorge el Canastero. In addition, special guest artist will
be Montse Cortés.
The Mallorca festival is a private undertaking, sponsored by López
Raigal Construcciones y Promociones, Asogui Promociones and the Gran Casino
de Mallorca. Other collaborators are the Casa de Andalucía en Baleares,
Xolocat Center, Escuela de Baile Victory's and the Porvenir Cafetería.

and at the Gran Casino de Mallorca.
During the week preceding the festival Farruquito will offer an intensive
flamenco dance course at the Academia de Baile Victory’s, in cooperation
with the Baile Flamenca La Carmeta and the Casa de Andalucía en
Baleares.
