Over a period of 5 days, the youngest interpreters of flamenco will be presented at Madrid’s Teatro Español under the title FLAMENCO JOVENzero'6. All the performers are young stars in their own right, under the age of 30.
FLAMENCO
JOVENzero’6 is an unprecedented festival of flamenco singing, concert
guitar and flamenco dance, which is presenting young stars of this specialty
who have proven their worth and been selected to bring their art to Madrid.
For a long time, flamenco fans have demanded a festival of this nature.
The event is scheduled to take place on May 13, 18, 20, 25 and 27, 2006
at the Teatro Español in Madrid, one of the capital’s most
important venues.
The first presentation will be by dancer Joaquín Ruíz and
his Banda Flamenca. The rest of the shows are four concerts divided into
three parts. Each one will feature a dancer, guitarist and singer, all
performers who have already demonstrated their worth and been recognized
by critics, programmers and press, making them first-line artists. The
only singularity is their youth, each one being under 30.
