The 5th edition of the Festival Flamenco de Barcelona De Cajón! is in preparation. In its short history many artists from other musical genres have participated.

On February 11th the program kicks of with Parrita at Barcelona’s Liceu with Pitingo and Chiquetete among others. The same venue will also receive José Mercé with his new record. The alternative rock group Los Planetas, who included flamenco references in their last recording with a tribute to Manolo Caracol, will also perform. Rosario Flores with her rumbas, Pitingo, and dancer Amador Rojas facing off with Antonio Canales are other highlights of the festival. At the Apolo and Luz de Gas, two women who have been gaining professional momentum, La Shica and María Toledo, Tomasito the eternal teenager and José el Francés with his new record, in addition to Mantecao, Pirata, Agustí Espín, Puchero and two Albas, Alba Carmona and Alba Guerrero. In Hospitalet at the Teatre Joventut, we will be able to see the show “Camarón, La Leyenda del Tiempo 30 Años Después”. As part of the festival program, a cajón contest will be held, and Amador Rojas and Antonio Canales with give a course at the Iñaki Márquez school. The Tablao Flamenco el Cordobés joins the festivities with its 40th anniversary, bringing together a special show from February 12th to March 28th, and the festival includes the debut of Minimúsica Flamenco, a children’s concert, to round out this fifth anniversary celebration.
