From March 23rd to April 1st, Madrid’s Centro Cultural de la Villa in the Plaza Colón will present a tribute to the historic establishments devoted to flamenco in the capital.

Casa Patas, Café de Silverio, El Duende, Los Canasteros and the
Revólver Club are the establishments to be honored on this occasion.
Artists like José de la Tomasa, Gabriel Moreno, Jesús del
Rosario, Tomás de Perrate, Salomé Pavón and Paco
del Pozo are participating in the series which has made a space for young
and upcoming flamenco performers.
José
Giorgio Soto, «José de la Tomasa», kicks off with his
tribute to Casa Patas on Thursday March 23rd. On Friday the 24th, the
event continues with Gabriel Moreno, one of the best singers from the
province of Jaén, with «La Leyenda del Café de Silverio».
On Saturday March 25th, young guitarist Jesús del Rosario will
offer his recital with the collaboration of Guadiana, El Paquete and dancer
Juan de Juan. Thursday March 30th is singer Tomás de Perrate with
«El Duende: Gitanillos de Toreros y Flamencos». From a family
of great flamenco singers, Perrate became known in 1999 with a group record,
«Navidad en Utrera». From that point on he set out on a career
that has taken him to flamenco peñas throughout the province of
Seville and festivals such as Mont-de-Marsan in 2000.
The
series closes with Salomé Pavón in the name of the legendary
tablao, Los Canasteros, on Friday, March 31st. The daughter of Arturo
Pavón and grand-daughter of the great Manolo Caracol, Salomé
started out as a dancer with the Ballet Nacional de España. She
soon decided to turn to cante and debuted in the Flamenco Festival «A
Corazón Abierto» in 2003 accompanied by her father. This
year she participated in the Festival Flamenco Caja Madrid and already
has a recording under her belt.
The profound voice of Paco del Pozo closes out the series «Cinco
Leyendas» on Monday, April 1st with «Los Gloriosos Lunes de
Revólver».
