Two styles, two personalities, two ways of understanding the artform which is the focus of the fifth edition of Catalonia's flamenco festival.
At popular prices to attract the general public, Catalunya Arte Flamenco will again tour the region of Catalonia.
Catalunya Arte Flamenco is back with its fifth series presenting a program that will travel through Catalonia. Arcángel breaks the ice in Santa Coloma on Saturday the 19th, followed by José Mercé in Hospitalet. The festival combines the presence of well-known artists with up and coming stars.
Throughout November, Catalunya Arte Flamenco will travel to Sant Cugat del Vallés with Alba Carmona – November 15th. Free concert-, Juan Moneo “El Torta” returns to Santa Coloma but at a different venue, the Auditori de Can Roig i Torres –November 15th-, Duquende with his show “Rompecabezas” will be seen in L’Hospitalet, -November 15th- and again in Santa Coloma, and young singer David Palomar –November 29th.

The grande final of the 18th Certamen Internacional de Guitarra Flamenca Ciutat de L’Hospitalet, organized by the Tertulia Flamenco, is the performance of José Mercé. This well-known flamenco singer, born in Jerez de la Frontera, belongs to a long line of singers including Paco la Luz and Manuel Soto “Sordera”. As a boy he sang in the chorus of the Merced church in Jerez which is the origen of his artistic nickname “Mercé”.
