Miguel Poveda, Estrella Morente, Sara Baras, Niño Josele and Carmen Linares will be featured in the shows of the 2014 edition.
At Corral de la Moreria, Madrid base of the Festival, the program of the 54th edition of the Cante de las Minas has been presented. This year the opening speech will be delivered by journalist Luis del Olmo, the award Catedral del Cante which goes to India, and the cultural agenda includes Arturo Pérez Reverte, Fernando Trueba and Juan A. Ruiz Espartaco among other individuals from the world of art and culture.
Francisco Bernabé, mayor of La Unión, presented the program for this year’s edition, which includes shows with Estrella Morente, Miguel Poveda, Sara Baras, Niño Josele and Carmen Linares, who will receive the Castillete de Oro along with Estrella Morente.
The Festival, which has been declared of International Touristic Interest, recently received the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes, and is included in the activities of Marca España by way of ‘Las Minas Flamenco Tour’ which offers editions of the Festival in the international market. A national tour is also in the works, and will feature winners of the Festival’s contests.
The event is scheduled to take place August 6 to 16, 2014.

Tickets for the Festival go on sale June 1st at the Tourism Office of the La Unión town hall, and all outlets of the Corte Inglés.
The presentation closed with the performance of the current holder of the Lámpara Minera, Jeromo Segura, accompanied on guitar by Rosendo Fernández.
