This
year's edition, the thirty-eighth, is made up of a bill of top artists
maintaining or even surpassing the level of previous years in one of Andalucía's
oldest flamenco festivales.
Tomatito, from Almería, who will be presenting his new recording,
and singer Estrella Morente whose newest record is awaited with great
anticipation will head the first night of the festival under the banner
«Jondos y con Duende» on August 23rd.
The second night, titled «Seducción y Magia» brings
singer Diego el Cigala, paradoxically more famous for his successful recording
«Lágrimas Negras» which he continues to present throughout
the world, in his capacity as cantaor. Also scheduled for the second night
are singers Miguel Poveda from Cataluña, Vicente Soto from Jerez
and Tomatito's young daughter María Ángeles Fernández
whose appearance has triggered much expectation.
The third and last night includes the best local artists under the banner
«Almería Flamenca, un Mediterraneo de Emociones»: El
Pirri, Zoraima, Paco el Mellizo, Juan Gómez, Luis de la Venta,
Antonia López y Carrete, al cante; Josele, El Niño de la
Fragua y El Niño de las Cuevas, al toque; y María del Mar
Hernández «La Rabota».
