From July 30 to August 9, 2025, the International Festival of Cante de las Minas will celebrate its 64th edition. During today’s event, the festival unveiled the Flamenco Galas, which will feature an outstanding lineup of artists.
One of the most iconic flamenco events in the world, the Festival of Cante de las Minas officially presented its 64th edition at the Teatro Real in Madrid. The event was attended by prominent figures from the cultural and institutional spheres, including Joaquín Zapata, Mayor of La Unión and President of the Cante de las Minas Foundation; Carmen M. Conesa, Minister of Culture, Tourism, Youth, and Sports of the Region of Murcia; and Ignacio García-Belenguer, General Director of the Teatro Real. Representatives from the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM), sponsors, embassies, and notable figures from the flamenco world also took part in this historic presentation.
A Stellar Lineup for the Flamenco Galas of the 64th Edition
The festival, set to take place between July 30 and August 9, 2025, will feature an exceptional program. This year, the event will pay tribute to Andalusia, the cradle of flamenco, with a stellar cast of top-tier artists:
- August 1: Antonio Rey presents Historias de un Flamenco, a show that blends traditional and avant-garde flamenco guitar styles.
- August 2: The legendary Sara Baras will bring Vuela, her acclaimed tribute to Paco de Lucía.
- August 3 & 4: The Flamenco Real series will present two nights featuring Jesús Carmona, a leading figure in contemporary flamenco dance.
- August 5: The Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, directed by Patricia Guerrero, will perform Tierra Bendita, a show promising an unforgettable experience.
In addition to these spectacular performances, the festival will continue its traditional competitions in singing, dance, guitar playing, and flamenco instrumentation, where rising talents will compete for the prestigious Lámpara Minera, Bordón Minero, Desplante, and Filón awards.
A Night of Unforgettable Performances
The event concluded with breathtaking performances, including the talented Paula Rodríguez, winner of the Desplante Award 2021, and the recent winners of the Bordón Minero and Lámpara Minera 2024, Jesús Corbacho and Joni Giménez, who captivated the audience with their artistry.
With this presentation at the Teatro Real, the countdown has begun for an unforgettable edition of the Festival of Cante de las Minas. Ticket sales will begin in March 2025 through TicketMaster and at the La Unión Tourist Office starting in June.
