The Diario de Jerez Audience Award, based on audience voting, was given to the show Alter Ego, starring Patricia Guerrero and Alfonso Losa, which took place at the Teatro Villamarta. The show also won the Critics’ Award, granted by the Flamencology and Folklore Studies Chair of Jerez and the Wine Regulatory Council.
The Revelation Artist Award, granted by Bodegas González-Byass after voting by specialized critics, was awarded to Juan Tomás de la Molía for his show Vertebrado, artistically directed by Manuel Liñán. This award highlights the dancer’s innovative capacity and his establishment as one of the most promising talents in contemporary flamenco.
In singing, Ángeles Toledano received the Best Accompaniment Singing Award for her outstanding performance in Alter Ego. Meanwhile, young Jerez-born singer Manuel Monje was distinguished with the Revelation Award for his performance at Peña Buena Gente as part of the De Peña en Peña cycle.
The Guitarra con Alma Award, granted by the José Ignacio Franco Flamenco Guitar Academy, went to Juan Gómez ‘Chicuelo’, whose participation in the show Tres piezas, alongside dancers Karen Lugo and José Maldonado at the Museos de la Atalaya, captivated both the audience and specialists. Additionally, the Best Musical Composition Award, given by CajaSur, was awarded to Francisco Vinuesa, a member of the Alter Ego artistic team.
In their speeches, the awardees emphasized that these honors not only recognize individual talent but also the collective effort of artists, musicians, and creators who work tirelessly to keep the essence of flamenco alive. Through these awards, the Festival de Jerez reaffirms its commitment to excellence and the evolution of this universal art form.
