FLAMENCO ROSARIO (VANCOUVER)
FLAMENCO ROSARIO – “Dialogue Extended”
Sharing experiences and finding balance between domestic and artistic lives!
After the success of Quadrilogue Affective, Flamenco Rosario’s Artistic and Musical Directors Rosario Ancer and Victor Kolstee team up with two other artistic romantic couples: Mariano Cruceta and Gloria Solera from Spain, and Marien Luévano and Ulises Martínz from Mexico, to create Dialogue Extended, where they try to find balance between their domestic and artistic lives. Joining them on stage will be singer Jose Díaz “El Cachito”, guitarist Alfredo Millán and percussionist Davide Sampaolo.
As anyone who runs a family business knows – it is not always easy to leave work in the office and not bring it home! This is especially true in the performing arts – where many marital love boats have ended up broken on the reefs of great expectations – to later pick up the pieces and create magic on the stage. Traditional male/female roles are challenged as the domestic gets in the way of the artistic.
Intertwining artistic, relational and personal facets of their respective engagement in flamenco art, Dialogue Extended is conceived as a six-part dialogue between three highly regarded couples at opposite stages of their professional careers and an intergenerational exchange of shifting views in movement. These six artists will re-visit their shared experience.
